Really nice people. Well taken care of. Great shade areas for people to sit. The people are always nice also.

Well maintained dog park with plenty of shade, sand for digging, and a mini pool

My wife and I were dog sitting for my Son's small dog. We do not have a fenced in back yard so the only exercise the dog got was from my walks with her. Today we visited this park and our dog out out and ran a while and walked a while. She seemed so much more lively. Thanks to all the sponsors listed on the signs around the fences. Great rules and facilities. Will definitely come back. Other dog owners were nice and respectful.

Why did you spray roundup around the fence!? Vinegar works and won't kill our dogs!!! Mine eats grass as most do and I now have a very sick dog!!! You put a handwritten note on the fence but that doesn't work. Point is to let the dogs run free! I can't keep up with her to stop her from munching on some grass.

Generously sized dog parkmthat is shaded, has seating, water, and plenty of shade. There are two separate big dog/small dog areas. My dogs played in both with plenty of other dogs. No problems here, and owners cleaned up after their pets, hooray!

Spent Easter break in Wilmington with my two fur babies (45 & 65lbs) The park was so close to the hotel we stayed in so it was perfect to get up early in the morning and go everyday. The dog section is blocked off with a chain length fence that had two areas - one for smaller dogs and one for larger dogs. The park in covered in a (gray/black) sand that unfortunately stained my white husky - but no worries. In the mornings (8am-10am) the park is shaded by the surrounding trees so that was a plus - especially to my dog that doesn't do well in high heat. Poop bags, water bowls, seating areas and a few tennis balls are provided. Overall I was very happy with the park and thankful to the others who were there this weekend with their happy dogs too.
- KorynMore than a year agoAs good as having a back yard.
This place is so convenient for those of us living downtown with no yards! The set up is really nice and the people/dogs are friendly. We'll be regulars from now on.

While on vacation with my 9 month old lab mix who is used to her big fenced in back yard, I quickly realized we were in need for some off leash play. The dog park at Empie was just the place. This park was shady, spacious, and well maintained. Several other dogs were there which made my dog's visit much more pleasurable. There is a small dog park only 3 miles from where I am vacationing, but my dog and I agree that the difference in experience is worth the 20 minute car ride.

Having a new pet has made it difficult to go out and do family things. During our trip to Wilmington, I found this place on the bringfido app. Awesome park! My pup had a blast running around and meeting new friends. Park was very clean! Both son and pup are sleeping really good tonight!!! The park wore them both out! Definitely will be stopping there during our next visit to Wilmington.

This is a nice little park. I was on vacation with my girls. The park was easy to find, had lots of shade, and provided an opportunity for a little exercise after a long car ride. Lots of friendly locals, no issues with aggressive dogs.
- StacieMore than a year agoPine Needles and Sand
The park is set up nicely with plenty of water and poop bag stations. While my pup loves to run around in soft, squishy sand, I don't think he favored all the dead pine needles covering most of the ground. I imagine in the spring and summer, it's quite nice with the trees serving as shade, though.
- MegMore than a year agoDecent park
Its a great park to tire out my pup. I haven't found anyone yet that allowed their dog to misbehave and not correct them, but I'm sure that was just luck. The sand (dirt) is a little much. It usually requires both of us to wash up after we come from there.
- HeatherMore than a year agoOur favorite place!
Our 9 month old golden retriever mix Ladybird absolutely loves the Empie dog park! We try to take her there at least three times a week. She gets plenty of exercise running and wrestling with all her friends and always comes home tired out. We have rarely dealt with any misbehaving dogs or dog owners. The only complaint I might have is I wish there was some grass, all the sand easily turns to mud which usually means a bath as soon we get home! But we don't mind, its definitely worth it!

Our bassets' Sampson and HoneyDew met a lot of new friends while playing at this park. There were lots of other friendly well mannered dogs, lots of running, digging in the sand, toys, etc. And although I always carry doggie doo doo bags to clean up after my pet, it was nice to see that there were several stations and trash cans provided to take care of this and keep the park nice and clean. The hounds had a great time and will be back to play again at our next visit.
